Your account
When you register, we collect your name and email address, create an account and send a password setup email to confirm that you control the address. WordPress stores your password as a hash, rather than as readable text. We also retain account and email-verification records so you can sign in, manage adverts and receive enquiries.
Your account email is used for account setup, password recovery and marketplace notifications. It is not displayed as a public contact address on your advert.
Adverts and photos
An advert collects the vehicle details, description, price, photos, seller name and town you enter, together with optional information such as a postcode or telephone number. Published adverts display the seller name, town, vehicle details and photos. A telephone number you provide can be revealed by visitors to the advert. Registration details or anything visible in your photos may also be public.
Adverts are reviewed before publication. Uploaded photos are stored as website media and may be accessible through their direct file addresses, including before an advert is published. Upload car photos only: do not upload identity documents, financial documents, private correspondence or other confidential material.
Enquiries and support messages
When you enquire about a car, your name, email address and message are saved for its seller and included in an email notification to that seller. The seller can use your email address to reply directly. The site team can access these records to operate the service and handle concerns.
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, selected topic and message. A private copy is kept for site administrators and a notification is sent to the site administrator’s email address. We use this information to handle your request. Sending a support message does not publish it on the website.
Saved cars, cookies and security
A guest shortlist stores car identifiers in your browser’s local storage. You can remove saved cars or clear this data through your browser settings. When signed in, your shortlist is also stored with your account so it can be used across devices; the website keeps a local browser copy for the interface.
WordPress uses cookies for sign-in, sessions and related account functions. A “remember me” choice affects your login session. Blocking these cookies can prevent account features from working.
The marketplace uses short-lived, hashed identifiers derived from network addresses and email addresses to limit repeated login attempts, registrations and messages. Hosting and security systems may also process request information, including IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and protect the service.
Service providers
The website runs on WordPress, with Rocket.net and Cloudflare providing hosting, content delivery and security infrastructure. Information is processed through that infrastructure when you use the website. Account and message notifications are sent through the site’s configured email service.
The theme currently loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to obtain these files, which sends technical request information such as your IP address.
How long information stays
Account details, advert records, enquiries and support messages remain in the website’s records until they are removed by an administrator. Marking a car as sold or withdrawing an advert takes it off the public grid; it does not automatically erase the saved advert, its photos or related enquiries. Browser shortlist data remains until you remove it or clear browser storage.
Use the contact form if you want to discuss removal of an account, advert or message. We may need to confirm your identity and consider any information that must be kept to address a dispute, protect the service or meet a legal obligation. Hosting backups and email copies may have separate deletion processes.
Your choices and requests
You can edit or withdraw your adverts and remove cars from your shortlist through your account. You can also contact LST Direct Limited about access to your personal information, corrections, deletion or an objection to its use. The rights available depend on the circumstances.
